CASE STUDY
Sunday Shopping App
Rebuild of a Polish shopping-calendar app from an older Android codebase into a modern Kotlin Multiplatform product for Android and iOS.
The challenge
Sunday Shopping App answers one simple question: can you shop this Sunday in Poland?
The existing Android app dated back to 2018. The product was useful, but it needed clearer functionality, a refreshed interface, and a technical direction that could support both Android and iOS without duplicating the same business logic.
What we rebuilt
We rebuilt the app as a modern multiplatform product for iOS and Android. The work included organizing the product functionality, redesigning the app and widget interfaces, and making decisions about the technology stack.
Technical direction
We chose Kotlin Multiplatform for the project, which helped us avoid implementing the business logic twice. At the same time, we kept the user interfaces native to preserve a native UX.
Before migrating the code, we carefully analyzed the app logic and created several prototypes to explore different approaches. We also prepared a comprehensive automated test suite to make sure the rebuild behaved correctly.
Launch support
As part of the work, we prepared app store content and a landing page using our customized AppShots software, which makes it easier to create accurate presentations of app screens.
Result
The project was completed in 6 weeks, from the rebuild decision to the production release on Google Play.
